DEMENTIA SERVICES
Belong villages are designed around maximising opportunities, quality of life and independence for people with dementia.
As well as support for people living in the village, we will provide specialist dementia services for people in the wider community from our base in the Belong Heritage Gallery.
EXPERIENCE DAYS
Belong provides a specialist day care service known as ‘Experience Days’ for people who require support to access activities and facilities in the Belong Heritage Gallery.
Experience Days typically run from 10am to 4pm, with flexibility around the number of days and hours people wish to join in, operating on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. Transport can also be organised, subject to availability.
The day is co-ordinated by a member of the dedicated support team and lunch is provided in Sammy Bell’s Tea Rooms or the village bistro. Activities take place in the village, based in the Belong Heritage Gallery, and are designed around customer interests. There is a varied programme of activities including exercise based sessions, art and crafts, films, dance, gardening and discussion groups. These will be advertised on our website and through the What’s On newsletter once the village opens in 2018.
BELONG AT HOME
Belong also operates a registered home care service. All Belong services have been rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and are inspired by consistent values of responding to individual needs and preferences with compassion and commitment.
The Belong at Home team support people in their own home in the wider community, and are also able to facilitate attendance at appointments or to join in activities that enable customers to maintain their interests and social networks.
