Talents in Bloom
Let your talents bloom in our fortnightly flower arranging workshops. Sessions take place on alternate Wednesdays, starting on 5 June, and run from 2pm – 4pm in the Arts and Crafts Room. Cost £3 each, which includes the cost of the flowers to take home with you afterwards; early booking essential.
A taste of Italy
Create your own pizza in our Italian themed cookery class on Thursday 6 June. Join us in Samuel Bell’s Tea Room at 2pm; cost £5.50 which includes ingredients and the pizza to enjoy afterwards. Early booking is essential.
Take a break in Carers Week
Try our popular day club for yourself with a free ‘taster’ session for your loved one during Carers Week. Belong’s specialist day care service is designed to support the needs of family and carers, meaning you can continue doing the things you love, whilst enjoying the peace of mind that comes from knowing your loved one is equally happy and meaningfully occupied with us. All staff are trained in supporting people to live well with dementia. The service costs £67.50 per day which includes lunch in The Bistro and free access to our state-of-the-art gym (one session per week; subject to availability). We will launch our brand new fortnightly reminiscence sessions, starting on Wednesday 12 June. Sessions run from 2pm – 4pm and are an ideal opportunity to share memories and to meet new people. Free entry; booking required.
Memorial Arboretum trip
Discover the National Memorial Arboretum Centre of Remembrance situated in Staffordshire, home to over 360 memorials. Join us on Friday 14 June; we’ll be leaving the village at 10am and returning around 3pm. Cost £25; early booking essential.
Enjoy a trio of delicious treats with Dad this Father’s Day. Enjoy a full English breakfast for just £10 for two people; served 9am – 11am. A two-course Sunday roast, plus a selection of desserts for £8.75 per head or £10 with a Titanic Ale; served 12noon – 2pm. Or treat Dad to a gent’s afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, savoury scones, chocolate ale cake, a bottle of Titanic Ale, tea or coffee, for just £9.95 per head. All menus are available in The Bistro on Sunday 16 June only and early booking is essential.
Join Belong Heritage Coordinator, Daniel Turner, in The Venue on Thursday 20 June for a journey into the past exploring the life of Alfred the Great. The event will run from 2pm – 3pm and entry is just £3 per person; booking required.
Open day – free reminiscence sessions
We’ll be opening our doors to everyone and invite you to join us for National Care Home Open Day on Friday 28 June. There will be free reminiscence sessions takin place throughout the day, opportunities to take part in tours of the Belong Heritage gallery, plus a chance to look around the village facilities and speak to the management team to find out more about the range of accommodation, support services and activities on offer. Come face to face with exotic and endangered animals from across three continents during a visit to Peak Wildlife Park on Wednesday 10 July. We will be leaving the village at 10am and returning around 3pm. If you’d like to join us the cost of the trip is £25 per person; early booking essential.
We’ll be hosting our annual summer fair on Saturday 20 July from 11am – 3pm. There’ll be lots to do and everyone’s invited. Activities include prize raffles, games and face painting. There will also be a variety of entertainment, stalls to browse, plus a barbecue. Entry is free (charges apply for activities and food); we hope to see you there!

Knit and natter

Pomona pottery exhibition
Enjoy a guided tour of the Heritage Gallery and explore our exhibition of Pomona pottery from the 1740s, as well as artefacts on loan from the Bramptom Museum and Apedale Heritage Centre.
