Festive Panto

Enjoy a festive pantomime adventure with a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk on Friday 6 December. Join us in The Venue from 6pm, sit back and relax, and enjoy this popular classic fairy tale, performed by the village team with lots of fun, laughter and audience participation. Entry £5 each; early booking is essential.

Christmas crafts

Enjoy making your own festive gingerbread with us in Samuel Bell’s Tea Room on Monday 9 December at 2pm. Cost £3 per person, which includes the ingredients and the baking to take home with you afterwards; early booking essential.

Ladies Day

Join us for a ladies pamper day in The Venue on Tuesday 10 December at 2pm. Enjoy having your nails and make-up done, whilst enjoying a glass of fizz, and stay to watch a film with us too! Cost £5; early booking essential.

Male Voice Choir

Enjoy a festive performance by the All Male Voice Choir on Wednesday 11 December, at 7pm, in The Bistro. Entry is free and drinks will be on sale from our licensed bar area; early booking essential.

Movie magic


Join us for some Christmas movie magic, on Friday 13 December and Friday 27 December, at 2pm in The Venue. Entry is free; charges apply for drinks and popcorn.

Prize bingo


Come along to our Christmas community prize bingo evening on Saturday 14 December at 7pm in The Old Pomona Inn. Entry is free; books £5 each.

Pie and a pint

Enjoy a pie and a pint in The Old Pomona Inn on Tuesday 17 December at 2pm. Take part in a variety of traditional pub games and a quiz and enjoy some good company with friends old and new; cost £5.

Christmas party

Join the celebrations and party the night away with us on Friday 20 December from 7pm in The Venue. Our Fustian band Christmas party will include lots of festive music and a party buffet. Entry £5 per person; early booking essential.

Christmas market

Come along to our Christmas market on Saturday 30 November from 11am. There will be a wonderful festive atmosphere with music, activities and raffles, plus stalls to browse for that ideal gift. The Bistro will be selling roast turkey and stuffing baps plus mulled wine and kids can visit Santa in his grotto. Entry is free; charges apply for food and activities. Festive menus

Our festive menus are now available in The Bistro: enjoy three delicious courses on Christmas Day (£30), a cooked breakfast on Boxing Day (£15), or choose from a variety of meals from our full menu on New Year’s Day (costs vary). Our three-course festive menu is also available on 4, 11 and 19 December, served from 12noon – 3pm (£16.50). Call in, or contact reception, to request a menu.

Tree of Light service

You are warmly invited to join us for a very special Tree of Light service in the courtyard on Monday 23 December at 6pm. Take time to remember your loved ones and place your stars onto the tree of light. Whilst here you can also enjoy a Christmas service by Reverend Christine Legge of Higherland Methodist Church. Stars cost £1 each; which will go to support the activities programme for residents.

The Salon

Visit The Salon and enjoy a free festive drink plus receive a free raffle ticket, to be in with a chance of winning a prize; applies to every appointment booked with Kerry in December. Call the village on 01782 986300 to book.

Experience Days

Experience Days are our way of inviting you to use the facilities at our vibrant community village. Belong’s specialist day care service offers meaningful activities and the chance to get involved in our community. People with dementia are especially welcome. The service is designed to support the needs of carers too and can be offered on a regular or ad hoc basis to give them a much-needed break. To find out more call Emma Palin on 01782 986300.

Get up close with the magnificent owls from Safe Haven owl sanctuary in The Venue on Friday 17 January at 2pm. Cost £3; early booking essential.

Chinese New Year

Celebrate Chinese New Year with us on Saturday 25 January, in The Bistro, and enjoy a Chinese buffet for just £6 per head.

Heritage Tours

Enjoy a guided tour of the Heritage Gallery and explore our exhibition of Pomona pottery from the 1740s, as well as artefacts on loan from the Brampton Museum and Apedale Heritage Centre. Tours take place every Wednesday at 2pm; booking required.

Knit and natter

Knit & Natter

Come along to our lively breakfast club, every morning at 9:15am, in The Bistro. It’s free to join and a great way to meet new people and engage on a range of lively topics. Prices will vary for food.

Poetry corner

Come along to our poetry club held every Thursday morning. Members meet at 11am in The Reminiscence Lounge. It’s free to take part and a great way to explore your love of poetry; booking required.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi sessions take place every Thursday in The Venue. Sessions cost £5 each and run from 1:30pm. Suitable for people of all abilities and new faces always welcome so come
